I'm from NC and I have a tenant that just up and moved. She didn't pay last month, for she said her money order was lost. I posted eviction notice on door for nonpayment of last month and this month. I noticed all the furniture was out of house. All carpets are damaged from a dog, "no dogs allowed", and house left a mess. I'm not sure what to do next? Thank you, Helen

You need to get a forwarding address or other address that they gave you. If not post notices visibly on the property to alert them that they will need to compensate for missed rent and damages and that the security deposit will be used for it any remain monies owed they will be held responsible to pay. At this point you will also want to file with the court so that you can legally go after them for money.
