Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Tenant moved in Jan 6th and on Jan 17th told landlord they would be moving out in about 10 days. Month to month lease requires 30 day written notice. Can landlord keep the deposit?

RE: Ohio tenant doesn't give 30 day notice on month to month lease. Can landlord keep deposit?
In Ohio 30 days is mandatory, as long as you have the lease signed with out any other statements saying that they have the right to leave with less notice that will hold up. Have you contacted the tenant to notify them that the security will be held to cover lost rent?
