Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I sent my tenants the EZLandlord Lease in a PDF format. They electronically signed (altered the pdf FORMAT) and sent it back to me.
My realtor says it is a legally binding, but I don't think it is unless I have an agreement to accept e-signatures. I am also not sure what software program to get to allow this and handle it professionally and legally.
Any suggestions?

RE: Electronic Signatures - Are they allowed?
The Uniform Residential Landlord Tenant act states the definition of “Sign” means, with present intent to authenticate or adopt a record, to execute or adopt a tangible symbol; to attach to or logically associate with the record an electronic symbol, sound, or process; or to send an electronic mail bearing the sender’s name or electronic mail address.
