Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I have tenants who have broken there lease 4 months early due to a divorce. They informed me a few months before and I did find new tenants to move in. My question is can I keep the security deposit? I never sent them the bank information or interest on the security deposit when they first moved in. Any help would be appreciated!

RE: Security Deposit MA
I supposse its a gamble... if they argue for it back, who is right or wrong. They ended the lease early, but you found paying tenants to fill that spot. Was the property left in shambles, did you need to use the security deposit to fix items above normal wear and tear? Ethically you have to ask yourself that.
