Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I had a plumbing problem for 3 yrs. It soaked all the drywall behind the shower tile and ran down the wall into the basement creating mold. My landlord ignored it until I called the health dept, then they fixed it. I have lived here 12 years, taken excellent care of the house and never been late on my rent. Kept to all lease agreements. Can they not renew my lease because they didnt like me forcing them to address this problem?

RE: lease renewal
A landlord should make necessary repairs and perform maintenance tasks in a timely manner, or include a provision in the lease stating that tenants can order repairs and deduct the cost from rent.
As far as renewing your lease is concerned, you should consult a good property management firm for the same. I would suggest Tropicana Realty, they helped me a lot in my rental stay in Killeen.
