i have a building with 2 units. i am told that since there is only one furnace that i must supply 68 degree heat to both units. the lease states that the tenant is to pay for their heat. can i pass the cost of the oil on to the tenant???

RE: adding the cost of heating oil to tennants lease
how would the tenants pay their own heat, if the heat is not divided? meaning how will they know how much they use? i believe you would need to have sep. meters for each unit. the price could be drastically different if one unit has their heat set to 65 and the other 72.
