Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I read the Lease option contract for my state. It has the "No Equitable Interest" Clause on page 2,
which I know is important to have in the contract. However, it reads that no deposit monies or no portion of the rent
will go towards eventual purchase. I don't understand. I thought that was one of the attractions (future credit) of rent to own?

RE: Rent to own option - Equitable interest clause
Some rent to own agreements just cover the basics. IE the tenant agrees to purchase the rental at this price, by this time frame.
