What is the landlord responsibility in regard to returning any portion of the security deposit when the former Maryland tenant current address is not known and any calls to the former tenant goes unanswered and not returned/

RE: Security Deposit

In MD, a security deposit or an accounting thereof MUST be returned first-class mail to the tenants last known address within 45 days. If it gets returned to you, save the envelope so that you have proof that you attempted to return it.
