Landlord Question and Answer Forum
i own a house that i'm looking to rent out - it has a pool and is on a canal. Do i need to do anything regarding insurance in regards to if someone injures themselves or even worse drowns. Do i need to get a document from the laywer saying that i am not resposible? Please let me know if anyone has any insight here... THANKS!

RE: leasing a house with a pool
There's an addendum on this site that goes over pools. If you currently have homeowner's insurance, you'll have to switch your policy over to a rental dwelling policy when you lease it out, and of course you'll need to disclose the fact that you have a pool.

RE: leasing a house with a pool
please post a sign that says use at own risk to also cover anything else the insurance misses. Definately get rental insurance on the house.
