Landlord Question and Answer Forum
What is suggested verbiage to include in a lease for specifically excluding particular occupants from extending a stay and claiming tenancy? Do I name them specifically? I fear that someone claiming to be a visitor or a guest of the named leasee could overstay, bring in personal belongings, etc., then claim they have a right to live there. An eviction notice would not be an option as I rent to my daughter and we both wish to exclude her ex-husband. He visits only to see their children.

RE: excluding unwanted occupants or guests
I think you would have to get the Ex to sign something. A lease between you and another person(your daughter) would not change the rights of a third person(the EX). It would just be your daughter violating the lease if she lets him move in.
