Landlord Question and Answer Forum
The Housing Assistance Payments (HAP) contract is required by HUD to be added to and become a part of all Section 8 leases. In Part C. item 9. and 10. state that if the Assistance Participation is terminated for any reason, the lease is automatically terminated.
This is crazy. It seems to me that the lease then is rendered useless to enforce any contractual rights if the tenant simply walks away from the program. DO I misunderstand something?

RE: Section 8 HAP COntract
They have to follow the landlord tenant laws though right? This doesn't sound right. I would dig a little deeper.
