Landlord Question and Answer Forum
My tenants renewed their lease beginning May 1. They informed me today, August 4, that their offer on a house has been accepted, and they expect to close on September 15. My lease really doesn't have any specific language regarding breaking of lease. I am not sure how to proceed with this situation. I am considering selling the property, but I can't afford to leave that unit vacant either. Help!

RE: Lease breaking.
Talk with tenants and see if they will work with you when you place the property for sale. The biggest problem landlords have when selling is having tenants allow the property to be available for showing. Contact a RE Agent. I’m sure they will help you……Work with the bank on payments (possible none), if they know that the property is for sale. Again, talk with Agent…..Keep us posted. I’m sure others are in your situation.
