Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I will be taking over an apartment complex of more than 20 apartments. The owner has no information on the tenants and has no leases. The tenants move in and out at their discretion. I have sent paperwork asking for Update of Tenant Information. There are also no keys to the individual apartments. My question is how important is it to have leases for every apartment there? I thought possibly I should at least have a lease on each apartment.
Thank you,,

RE: How Important to have leases?
I suggest you contact an attorney to find out what your liability would be.

RE: How Important to have leases?
Thank you. This is actually how the owner has run this building for 30 or more years.
