Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I have a tenant who was on a Month to Month lease. She sent me her intention to leave on March 23, indicating she would be out April 23. She only paid for the time she was in the unit. There was nothing in the lease or did I ever agree to prorating her rent for leaving before the end of the month. Is she required to pay the balance of the rent?

RE: Leaving M-M Only Does not want to pay the full month
She needs and is responsible for payment for the full 30 days that she gave you notice for. There is no need to prorate nor do they have the right to get a prorated rent. They would pay for the full 30 days.
