Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I have tenants in NC that are suppose to maintain the property according to Lease, They were told a few times last year to maintain it, so I gave them a written notice of how much it will cost to do it and time frame to clean it, cut, trim, rake. I went back later to see and nothing was done. Can I charge them to have it done?, can I take it out of the security deposit? any help thanks

RE: Tenants responsibilities
Yes, you can take this from the security deposit at the end of the lease. Be sure to itemize expenses and have receipts as well as a record of the notices that you sent. You can also take this to a small claims court if need be to collect any money that the security does not cover.
