Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I have a tenant whose ex entered her apartment last night and assaulted her. Police report filed. He used to live there even though he was not on the lease. It is a section 8 lease.
she is requesting the locks changed. Whose responsibility is it? mine or hers?
She obviously gave him the key, but he has since vacated

RE: Massachusetts change lock info
I feel I would have changed the locks because I would want my tenants to feel safe in the rental that I provide. I do believe in Massachusetts the landlord can charge a fee for locks being changed.

RE: Massachusetts change lock info
I hope you had the key addendum added upon signing the lease . Which states that they cant change nor make copies of keys with out your consent.
