Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Hello! I just have a general question. If a prospective resident applies with another person and their application comes back declined because of the other person's credit/criminal history, and then the person with the clean credit/criminal history says that they want to just rent the apartment themselves and not have the other person live with them, do you let them re apply?
It just seems quite obvious to me that they will be sneaking in the other person who didn't qualify. I guess my real question is, would it be legal to tell them that they cannot re apply? Thanks for any input! :)

RE: letting a prospect re apply after already being declined
If you feel it is sneaking than it probably is. I would just keep screening other tenants until you find one better qualified and deny the previous prospective tenants.
