Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Recently purchased property and the tenant will not sign lease. What can i do in order for tenant to sign? The tenant was issued a 60 day notice to vacate by the previous landlord but has no intentions on moving.

RE: will not sign lease
The only way the tenant needs to move is if they were on a month to month. They do not need to and can stay for the rest of the original lease even with a new property owner. In most states you are required to honor the lease agreement unless you are moving into the premises or completely rehabbing the house. You may want to check with your state to see its requirements.
