Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I have a 65-year old woman who collects social security. Her daughter and son-in-law will be paying the rent.
Do I make the lease out to the woman and have the payees co-sign?
Never had this kind of situation before and need some advice.
Thanks.

RE: Apt. Lease
Yes, you would make the lease out as the older woman as the tenant and the daughter and son in law both as co-signers if they will both be the responsible financial parties. They would sign the lease and a separate co-signer agreement and would also get all documents that are required by your city/state to give to tenants or residents.
