My current tenant is renewing their lease. Do I need to ask for a new security deposit? She is an excellent tenant.

No you don't need to ask for a new security deposit. Most people only ask for an additional deposit if the tenant is less than stellar, even then it is rare. Security deposits follow the tenant from the time they move in, until after they move out.
