Landlord Question and Answer Forum
My mother and father are in a current predicament with a "rent to own" home. When they bought the house, is was LARGELY over priced, The house and land itself isn't worth much over $120,000 and they paid $250,000+. She has come to find out that the contract they signed was faulty in the amount of land they were suppose to get. On contract, it said 4.75 acres, and now that part if it is being sold off (by the owner), the land is being listed under 4.00 acres. I am wondering, what should they do in the position? Contact a lawyer?

RE: Scammed on a contract?
Yes find a real estate attorney immediately, if the sale of contract is final there may be nothing you can do other than a new appraisal and hopefully the original agreement for the for average that they are entitled to.
