I just need confirmation on this as I'm certain I know the answer...I still need to maintain my home owners insurance on my rental correct?

As I understand it, Renter's insurance applies to the renter to protect their personal property. As a landlord/owner of the property, you need to purchase a Landlord's policy that would replace your homeowner's policy. Talk to your insurance agent for more information.
