Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Does the landlord have to pay interest on the security deposit upon move-out to the tenant. I live in California. If not sure, who can I contact to get an answer?

RE: security deposit interest
California doesn't have statewide requirements for paying interest on security deposits, but some of the more liberal cities (such as San Francisco and Berkeley) do. I'd check with your local jurisdiction about it.
