I have a tenant renting a space that is not livable according to code because it is a basement and the escape window needs to be enlarged,he was aware of this.we did a written agreement for montly storage payments.Inspite of knowing this he moved in the space along with other family members.what can i do? and do you have a sample letter that i can issue to them that has your recommendation included?

That's a violation of your rental lease, so I would serve them with an eviction notice on the basis of their violation of the terms of the rental lease. Give them 30 days' written notice then file for eviction if they're not out.
