Would a co-signer on a rental lease need to fill out the rental application? if not what documents should be collected from the co-signer?

RE: C0-signers Question-Please help
Carolyn,
According to the book "Every Landlord's Legal Guide", it suggests that you do have the co-signer fill out the rental application. As a landlord, you need to know the same information about the co-signer that you need to know about the tenant because if the tenant defaults, you need to make sure that the co-signer has enough funds/assets to cover the rent/damages.
