Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Does anyone know what the law is in terms of showing a property to prospective buyers, while the tenant is still in? He has a couple months left on the lease, and is a very good tenant. So we are trying to be reasonable and work around his schedule. But he is becoming difficult. As an owner, do i have any rights to show my property at will, before the tenants lease is up?
Thanks
Cathy

RE: Selling a Property while tenant is occupying it
Yes, you have rights to show your property. But before showing it to the buyer, you have to follow some rules. The landlord or their agent must provide written notice to the tenant or have their permission to enter and show the unit to prospective buyers.
