Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Hi landlords,
We own a number of rental properties in California. Many of our tenants are in the Hospitality and Food and Beverage industry. They have very likely been laid off for an undetermined amount of time. CA state is saying 2 weeks...but that is very unlikely. We are expecting many tenants to request a modified rent, or perhaps a late rent schedule. We would like to accommodate as much as possible, as long as we can still pay the mortgage.
Does anyone have a template for a letter for something like this? Something that may allow them to have a 50% rent payment for April and May, and that lost the rent would be split, and added to June, July, August and September payments.
Let me know if there is any language on this. Thank you!
