Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Has anyone else had an HOA send letters threatening letters to tenants instructing them they are not allowed to rent in the neighborhood and are in violation of the bylaws.
Does the HOA have the right to evict a tenant or are these letters just banter? The rental property is in Missouri.

RE: HOA Rental Restrictions
YES...THEY...DO! If your property has an HOA, you need to inform them that you intend to rent. Some HOA's have restrictions. I have a condo that, in order to rent, I MUST use the HOA's approved lease - period. Additionally, some HOA's (like mine) will only allow a certain percentage of the properties for sub-lease as this affects their insurance payments.
