Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Hey there,
We have previously had a Tenant that had plumbing issues, so naturally, we sent a plumber out to handle. Plumber let us know that there was a sewer line clog due to baby wipes and grease being found when unstopping. I emailed Tenants they that would be responsible for the bill per their Lease due to misuse (flushing baby wipes). Tenant emailed me requesting to speak with Owner directly (we represent Owner as property manager), to send them a report of a full plumbing inspection done prior to their move-in (they have been there 1 year).
Do we have to adhere to these requests even though they signed a Lease stating "Tenant shall be responsible for any clogged plumbing within the Premises."?
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
