Landlord Question and Answer Forum
Hi I served 3 yrs in prison and am currently on probation for a felony
drug charge. I was visiting my friend in the trailer park she lives. The owner
must have found out about my charge by checking my tag because the
next thing I know he is threatening to call the police if I step
foot on the property. Does he have the right to do this?

RE: Not allowed on property
If you are visiting a person who is a property owner then someone can call the police but as long as you are not trespassing or doing anything to break your probation you are not in fault of anything. Also it could always help to contact your PO to notify them where you will be so that there is no suspicion. If someone asks you to leave try to keep the confrontation to a minimum. Now if your friend is a renter and you are "visiting" staying an extended period the landlord or property owner does have the right to have you removed. If this breaks your parole then you may want to consider leaving.
