Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I have heard from another small landlord that he will have to include a 1099 showing rental income with renters names and SSN's for 2015 tax year. Has anyone heard of this?

RE: Reprting Rental Income on a 1099 ????
There are several areas of income that can be reported on the 1099, such as nonemployee compensation, RENT, Royalties and fishing boat proceeds. The most common though is working as an independent contractor.

RE: Reprting Rental Income on a 1099 ????
Looks like no one has heard of reporting rental income on a 1099 (unless it comes from a mgmt company). It would seem unusual to issue yourself a 1099.
