What are the typical move-in costs? I know first and last, but what is a typical security deposit? Is it usually first, last, and security? And what about security deposit for pets?

In California, all moneys above first months rent are considered deposit. The deposit cannot be more than the equivalent of 2 months rent unless the tenant has water filled furniture in which case it can be up to 3 times rent.

Thanks! That is very helpful. So a security deposit for pets would be part of the extra beyond last month's rent.
