Landlord Question and Answer Forum
I have a good paying tenant BUT she is not the cleanest. In her eyes she IS clean but all I see is clutter, everywhere.
Where is the fine line of being dirty and having clutter?
It's her stuff but do I have the right to tell her to clean it up?
like her kitchen waste basket is extremely dirty and so is the wall behind it, food splatter.
which would attract bugs, am I wrong? I can't tell her to clean the trash can but I can tell her to clean the damn wall
behind it. right????

RE: gray area?
What does your lease say in regards to the maintenance and upkeep of the property? Having clutter is one thing as long as it's not a fire hazard, being dirty is not maintaining the unit.
