Landlord Question and Answer Forum
My landlord wants me to pay a water bill without showing me his water bill. I live in a 3 apartment complex. I agreed to pay the bill. He gave a water bill he made up. I asked to see his original bill to compare the difference in what I am paying to the other
2 apartments. He said he could not show me the bill.
My question is does he have to show me his bill. And will I know if I am being charged fairly.

RE: Water bill
Basically there is no statute requiring the landlord to provide you the information. But in laws in most places, the term "fair and reasonable" are used often. What this means is that you would have to initiate a court hearing and then bring your case to a judge and then the judge will determine if in fact your landlord is right or wrong. It will also depend alot on what your lease says regarding this issue.
