Landlord Question and Answer Forum
What legal means in Ohio are available to me to collect unpaid rent from a former tenant? I didn't evict him but we agreed that my apartment was no longer the right place for him because he can't afford it, so he will be moving out this week. I tried to work with him last year to help him get back on track, but now a large sum of money is owed (nearly $2k). He is retired military and collects social security. He says he wants to pay me in full over time, but I would like to give this situation some legal standing, not just empty promises where I'm left holding the bag.

RE: Collecting Unpaid Rent From Former Tenant
start with the proper notices, perhaps pay or quits. If they do not meet the date of payment, they have to vacate.
