This is the NYC Lease Renewal for Rent Stabilized Housing. Generally, tenants in rent stabilized apartments are offered renewal leases. The renewal lease can be for a term of one or two years, at the tenant's choice and is at a rate set by the local Rent Guidelines Board.
Who: This renewal notice is for tenants who lease property within NYC and are in rent stabilized housing.
What: This is the NYC Lease Renewal for Rent Stabilized Housing. Renewal leases must keep the same terms and conditions as the expiring lease unless a change is necessary to comply with a specific law or regulation.
When: In New York City, the owner/landlord must give written notice of renewal by mail or personal delivery not more than 150 days and not less than 90 days before the existing lease expires.
