In most cases, the landlord and tenant will walk through the property at the beginning of the occupancy. This will allow the landlord and resident to recognize without difficulty the damages that were made during the previous tenancy. The form includes a place for the landlord and tenant to log the condition of the premises at move in and move out. There is also space on the form for any additional notes.
The Province of Alberta has specific requirements, disclosures and statements that must be contained within the inspection document. The ez Landlordforms’ Alberta Inspection Form contains all of those requisite elements. It is a good idea for both landlord and tenant to be present at move-in and move-out inspections. This can alleviate any miscommunication. Furthermore, it is strongly suggested that the rental home or apartment be inspected when it is vacant. It is very hard to see any damage on carpeting if it is covered by a large piece of furniture.
Tenant and landlord will sign the bottom, and each should retain a copy for their records.
