Wisconsin 28 Day Notice to Terminate Tenancy

Document Description

The “28 Day Notice to Terminate Tenancy” specifies that the landlord has terminated the tenancy and the tenant must vacate the premises OR face eviction.

Who: This notice is given to a tenant with a periodic (month to month) tenancy when the landlord wishes to terminate the tenancy for any or no reason.

What: The "28 Day Notice to Terminate Tenancy" is the notice used if a Landlord wishes to obtain possession of the rental unit and terminate a current periodic tenancy.

When: Serve this document with notice of at least 28 Days or one rental period, whichever is greater.

IMPORTANT Wisconsin has complicated eviction requirements. It is suggested that an attorney be consulted before attempting an eviction.

Note: Service of Notice requirements may differ from county to county.

WARNING: A landlord cannot serve this 28 Day Notice to Terminate Tenancy to retaliate or discriminate against a tenant.
