As the end of a lease agreement nears, both the landlord and tenant need to make preparations for what will happen at the close of the agreement. Will the tenant renew? Is renewal an option? If the agreement is renewed will it be held to the same terms in the previous lease agreement? In the province of Saskatchewan, there are notice requirements that the landlord must abide by, prior to the termination of the lease agreement.

If you are a landlord in Saskatchewan you will want to create this form so that you are prepared at the close of the lease agreement. If your lease agreement is a fixed term of at least three months, then it is required by the province of Saskatchewan that this document is supplied at least 2 months before the end of the lease term. If the tenant does not respond to or accept the notice after 1 month of receipt, the offer is considered rejected and the tenant must vacate at the end of the lease agreement.

This form is used to inform the tenant of the landlord's decision to either ask the tenant to vacate, or stay at the completion of their lease agreement. If there is a need for a set term to be agreed up a landlord can indicate that on this document as well. This document is customizable so if there is any additional terms that a landlord would like to include ezLandlord forms gives them the ability to do so.

If you are a landlord in Saskatchewan do not forget to give this form to your tenant. If a landlord fails to provide a copy of the document to the tenant within the expected time frame, the tenant may apply for hearing. The outcomes could vary however it is not worth the risk.
