A "Demand for Rent" must be made before the landlord may begin legal proceedings for an eviction for a tenant who is behind less than one months rent. BUT this can be used anytime a Landlord want to make a formal demand for rent.

Missouri 30 Day Demand for Possession
This notice is appropriate when the lease has ended and the tenant will not leave, or when the tenant has violated the lease and the landlord wants to evict. The notice requirement for unlawful detainers is that the landlord demand possession of the premises from the tenant. It is a 30-day notice (R.S.Mo. 534.030 and 441.060).
