Only 1 signed lease
The husband signed the lease since the wife was working out of state. Now, we are taking them to small claims court in NC for damages. The wife is claiming only her husband is responsible. Doesn't sound right to me since they are married. Any help in answering this would be appreciated. Mary

RE: Only 1 signed lease
Good luck, Mary. This is a good example why LL should never hand over the keys until all parties responsible sign the lease. You could have asked her to send you a notarized letter stating she read the terms of the lease and agrees to them. Let us know what the court decides.
