In accordance with Maryland Code 8-203.1, the Maryland Security Deposit Receipt is a required document used when a Landlord collects a security deposit . This document provides the tenant with a receipt and a list of rights.

Who: This document is for Landlords and Tenants.

What: This document verifies that the Tenant is being provided with a receipt for the payment of a security deposit along with a list of rights concerning the security deposit.

When: Give this document to your tenant before or at lease signing.
